Nike VRS Covert 2.0 Fairway Woods

August 5th, 2014

Nike have been producing fairway woods for years now and it’s safe to say they do it remarkably well. This year is no exception either as they have released the brand new exciting VRS Covert 2.0.  We expect to see great things with the new model as it is bigger, faster and longer than last year’s making it the most advance club yet.

The VRS Covert 2.0 is the first ever golf club to feature compliant high speed cavity back technology, allowing players to take longer and straighter shots. A lowered centre of gravity also helps to create a higher launch angle whilst preventing spin on the ball. With all of these qualities combined players will find that they are able to gain a lot more distance in their shots.

The club has been specifically designed to meet the needs of top athletes in the sport.  Nike have always worked closely with the athletes to ensure that they produce the best possible products for them to use. The VRS Covert 2.0 has so far proven to deliver all of this with its outstanding shape, brilliant stability and superb speed. Combined an athlete can take on an aggressive approach at the tee, an important factor in modern day golf.

Also featured on the club is Nikes FlexLoft technology, a system that allows golfers to pick and choose their loft and face angle.  This works through an adjustment system that can be pulled, turned, pushed and tightened to provide more range and flexibility.

One athlete to have put the club to good use is none other than Tiger Woods himself. Previously he used Nikes VR Tour but was caught using the VRS Covert 2.0 at Sherwood Country Club. He has made a number of other changes to his collection this year by adding a VR_S Covert 5 and a VR_S Covert 3.

Tiger Woods isn’t the only one who has been spotted with the new VRS Covert 2.0 though. Recently we saw Roy Mcilroy using it at the Australian Open which he went on to win.  Charl Schwartzel also used it to win his game at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, something Nike can be proud of.

There have been many reviews regarding the new wood, the majority of them extremely promising.  A lot of players have noted that the club has changed their game for the better, making even missed hits reasonably good hits.  Others have been pleased with how easy it is to use and adjust so that they can get on with the game easily.  The most promising reviews have all commented on their delight over the distance that the club can carry the ball and we hope to see this continue.
